The recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin a couple of months back and when I saw that the travel was only upto 50% I decided to move further. It was a brief call with the recruiter. She was very supportive and responded to all my queries promptly. The next round was a phone interview with two Architect or Sr level consultants. This was an hour long interview where I was asked about my project experience and cognos technical questions. It took the Director or whoever more than 2 weeks to decide that they do not want to move further since travel was my major concern with my current employer and he cannot promise me that travel would be less than what I currently have(upto 80%).
The recruiter screening and the phone interview were good but the reason for rejection is wrong because they knew I was looking for less travel since the beginning and shouldn't have wasted my time if this was not a possibility with the position.
