      Colloquio

It has been one of the most unprofessional interviews I have ever had! And I had quite a few interviews both internally in my country and externally in Europe. Examples as follows: - inexperienced interviewer, didn’t know how to make me feel at ease, to create a calming atmosphere, kept rubbing her shoulders and hands, didn’t make eye contact and seemed like reading questions from a script; only when I had asked her something unexpected seemed to loosen up a bit - weird questions like “what would your manager say about you?” (why don’t you ask her?); kept repeating questions in different ways so I had to repeat answers; the interview had no flow, she didn’t know how to conduct a meeting and it was her job to do so! - poor connection, couldn’t hear well and the image quality was poor, she was speaking through a headphone (like in call-centers) - at some point the room lit up and she looked up as if somebody else had just silently walked in which seemed disrespectful to me - the interviewer didn’t present herself, the company and position but got very defensive when I classified the company as a start-up; by the way, it is mentioned all over the website, Linkedin page and job descriptions... An interview or a conversation is a two way street, tell me something about yourself so that I would trust you enough to talk about myself! Having all this in mind, I tried to give all I had to reply to the questions but my mind was literally screaming to close the call. I lost myself and for that I take responsibility but I do uphold the opinion on the interviewer’s unprofessionalism! Advice to Management: - Lose the scripts! - Make sure the tool used for interviews has a good connection, Skype is 1000 times better than Meet. Even a phone call goes a long way as it has a better sound! - Hire better HR people who know how to make worthwhile connections!
