I had a phone call with the Head of Engineering and then another phone call two weeks later with the Head of CS. The recruiter reached out to me with a take-home assignment. They told me I could email them with any questions, but when I did email them with some questions, they never responded. I even sent a follow-up email that was also ignored. I ended up submitting the assignment and, within a day, receiving a form rejection letter without any further explanation or reason. This lack of communication throughout the interview process is unprofessional and unacceptable. If the company is asking its candidates to spend multiple hours working on a take-home assignment, the least they can do is answer their questions. Either that, or they should just not offer to answer questions in the first place. I also emailed the recruiter and my company contact to express my interest in other open roles, but again, all I received was silence.
