      Colloquio

      1st Interview was with HR and it was good and insightful - she expressed being very interested and said this role was a top priority and they wanted to move quickly on it. She asked if I could get done the Take- Home Assignment. In hindsight I wish I pushed back doing a 6 hour assignment (they say its 3 but it would be poorly executed with only 3 hours) before I had met with a member of the Finance Team. I turned around this assignment within 48 hours and then HR completely ghosted me. I followed up after a week and with in 8 minutes she let me know they weren't interested and would be moving forward with other candidates. I have nothing against want to test technical skills - especially when you are dealing with CPA's but I would highly encourage future candidates to wait to do these hefty assignments until you have met with the future team not just HR. Who even knows if it is a good fit before you make it to that step. Overall was disappointment with the lack of professionalism and consideration. They offered to provide feedback but I never got a response.

      Take home assignment involved looking up Revenue Criteria from the handbook, creating invoices, creating a full balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement all from raw excel data.

      We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience interviewing with us, specifically with the take home exercise. Although we estimate the time required to complete the submissions by attempting them internally first, it is hard to know exactly how long it will take each person. As we are a growing start up, we value your feedback and are actively refining our processes to ensure that we are providing the best candidate experience possible. We will certainly ensure we do a better job at time boxing take home exercises in the future! Beyond this - we will continue to refine our introductory calls, so that candidates feel a more robust understanding of a role and are able to better determine if they are interested in proceeding to a take home stage.
