I am a new grad applicant with no acute care experience. I do believe that an employee referral and hand delivery of my resume by that person was integral in the consideration process. I was first contacted by one of the supervisors around the end of December. After brief introductions, I was told to apply online and call HR to set up an interview. However, due to personnel being on vacation, I was told to call 2nd week of Jan. After setting the initial interview date, I was called couple days prior to reschedule for the next week. HR interview was 1:1 standard procedure, screening for eligibility. I was also informed that there was a 3 year new grad contract. Breach of contract would result in payment to the hospital for training cost valued at $30K. My understanding is that the sum is calculated/prorated according to the remaining term on the contract at termination. It will be paid in 12 installments, 30 days after termination. After the interview, HR told me that I would be contacted for a panel interview but was not given a date. I followed up once a week, was only allowed to leave messages, but received no return calls, which made me nervous. My panel interview was finally set for 2nd week of Feb. It was 2:1 ratio and was very casual. I could sense that high on their priority is finding the candidate with the right personality fit. They toured me around the unit and introduced me to some of the staff thereafter. I was called 6 days later for the verbal phone offer which included pay rate. Next steps were HR processing and then separate date for physical. Start date TBD upon clearance.

The interview felt comfortable and positive, with friendly conversation, meaningful questions, and an easy flow that helped me share my experiences openly while building a strong connection with the interviewer.
