A month after applying, I received a message from the recruiting team to schedule an interview. We planned a screening with the lead recruiter, but they canceled the interview at the last minute; after trying to get back in contact for a week, I finally got an interview with a different team member, and it was an over all pleasant experience. It mainly consisted of behavioral questions, why I am interested in the company and the position, and any projects I have worked on. After that, I was asked to complete some exams, and a week later, I was invited to a final interview. Right after getting the final interveiw invitation I recieved an offer from a different company, which I was planning on accepting. I decided that with respect to other candidates, I would take myself out of the running. I sent the head recruiter a very kind email thanking the company for its time and apologized for any inconvience. I didnt think anything of it but shortly after I recieved a rude and passive aggressive email from her saying I should have let them know sooner and how it was disrespectful to other candidates who could have gone to the final interview instead of me. Since I didn't receive the offer till after getting the invitation to interview, there really wasn't much I could have done differently. Her response to my message made me glad not to continue with the company, as it was really unproffesional and rude.
