Firstly I had a Recruiter call which went on for around 15 mins, I was asked basic questions around my profile, salary expectations, comfort with the location and work authorization. Few days later they arranged a technical Interview, which went well. I was told that interview result will be shared by next week. Next day I received a mail that interview was good and want to know my work authorization again. After telling them my work authorization, I received a rejection mail few days later. When shared my displeasure on this, they said that this team does not have the budget to sponsor. If that was the case then why was my technical interview arranged. I had said this in my recruiter call as well as in my technical call that I am an international student and currently on OPT so why to make it a problem later. I worked hard for the interview thinking that sponsorship won't be a problem for them if they come so far. Didn't expect this from a company like Prudential.
