I’d like to share my recent interview experience—not to speak ill of any organization, but to highlight the importance of transparency and respect in the hiring process.
I went through two technical rounds: the first focused on JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, which I cleared. The second was an in-depth React round conducted face-to-face (over Teams, but from your office), which I was also informed I cleared. Post that, I was told the next step would be the Core Values round. I began preparing accordingly and was awaiting the schedule.
After following up with HR, I was initially told that they were waiting for available slots. However, a couple of days later, I received a call saying my profile didn’t get approved due to a lack of testing experience.
To my surprise, not a single question related to testing was asked during the process—and I’m confident in my ability to write test cases and work with testing libraries.
It’s disappointing not because of the rejection, but because of how things were communicated. As professionals, we invest time, effort, and emotions into these processes. The least one expects is clarity and fairness.
I hope companies can strive to align their actions with their core values and ensure candidates are treated with transparency and respect.
