      Colloquio per Senior Content Marketer

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Pulley nel mese di lug 2023

      Colloquio

Contacted by a third-party. After scheduling a call, they felt I was a good fit but the next call was with someone in-house at Pulley. Had a video call with the in-house person, who was working out the entire time we spoke. They said they would pass along their notes and my resume/LinkedIn to other internal members, including the CEO, and that I'd hear back by the end of the week. End of the week came and it was almost end of day, but they still hadn't reached out. After emailing and asking if they had an update, they didn't respond but sent a separate, generic rejection email that specifically said they couldn't provide feedback as to why I was being rejected. Honestly felt like I dodged a bullet with these people. They provided a number of links to articles and videos to watch to familiarize myself with Pulley and they did the CEO no favors. As the only negative review of this company mentions, the CEO came across as an overly-intense megalomanic who puts her career before everything and expects employees to do the same. Part of the interview process for this role entails a writing assignment, and if Pulley likes the candidate's work enough, they'd "love to use it — in which case, [they] will of course compensate you accordingly." (That's a quote from their interview process document they share with candidates.) Compensation for work they love should be employment, not cutting a one-time check for a piece of content they'll continue to use and benefit from for the foreseeable future. And while we're on the subject of content, I wasn't impressed with what they've currently got on their site, which is littered with typos and errors. Anyone stepping into this role would need to prioritize doing a content audit and fixing the number of grammatical issues that suggest that whoever is writing their content couldn't care less about making a good first impression. Or is severely overworked and doesn't have the time to edit before pumping things out. Either way, a red flag and bad sign. Shady, weird, unprofessional, and overly intense. Trying to sell a role on nothing but the CEO being a four-time founder isn't enough to hide the cracks that are already showing on the surface of this company. Avoid.
