      Racists and Islamophobes. Stay away from this company. I have 20 years experience and never like to bring this up I have broad shoulders but this incident compelled me to write this review. Initial telephone interview was fine, but what followed in face to face interview was a joke, the guy turns up 10 minutes late says lets just 'have a discussion', kept checking his watch and had no intention to hire me from the start. Throughout he just knit picked at things pointlessly, was acting pedantic and kept asking why do you want to join here by why here why stay at your company, almost annoyed at having to interview a person of colour (or maybe had a thing specifically against Asians he was from Leeds!) anyway in the end i asked him is there anything you are not satisfied with in terms of my for the role (i asked deliberately because i had no flaws in my background i matched 100%) he said no i am just not sure i can put you in front of my clients then he regretted saying it out loud instantly and back tracked and said its not a no i have to think about it blah blah. I don't know who much he meant to be racist and islamaphobic but it was obvious he did not choose for em to get to that stage of the interview was not in any mood to let me move forward I hate to use this is an excuse but with so many in my community suffering in silence i could not remain silent. I did not want to look at this scum for a minute longer we shook hands and parted. I withdrew from the process and complained to HR who did nothing.

      No one should leave an interview or interaction with a potential employer feeling angry or disengaged. The fact that you did suggests to me that QA has lessons to learn from your interview experience. The accusations made in the post are extremely serious and should not be made or received lightly. I have therefore spent a considerable amount of time investigating this incident. I have read the notes made about your interview, the report written by HR following your discussion with them, and I have spoken to the hiring manager you reference in this review. Following this, I have come to the same conclusion as our HR team – that the accusations of racism and Islamophobia made in this review are unfounded. With regards to lessons that need to be learnt: As a hiring manager myself I know there is a challenging line to balance between making the candidate feel at ease and asking the right level of questions to establish if they are suitable for the role. The strength of your reaction in this review suggests that the balance was off in this case and that you did not feel comfortable with the level of questioning you received. The hiring manager you met with has reflected and feels that when it became apparent that you were not comfortable revealing some details about your previous employment history, he should not have push and pressed you so hard. Thank you for allowing us to learn from this and I am sorry you have left with a poor opinion of us.       I met with a total of seven people, Rachel was great at coordinating all the interviews, the process moved rather quickly. Although, I did not get an offer I was impressed with everyone I met with, incredibly passionate about the business and the culture CA
