Terrible interview experience.
Was told that the first stage would be a very informal chat, and when I specifically asked if there was anything I needed to prepare, I was advised that this was not the case and it was just a short getting to know you call.
This was not the case, the interviewer took no effort to really get to know me, it was straight in with competency-based/situational questions, one after another for almost an hour.
I have no problem with this, but I asked about the format of the interview and what I should prepare for, and the format of the interview was completely different to what I was told (it would be) by the HR person.
I don't think the interview was particularly hard and all questions were answered, but had I been advised correctly of the format, I could have prepared accordingly and been more confident in my performance and answers.
To add to that, the person that interviewed me was not personable at all, he literally just ran through a large number of questions, one after another, and when I then asked questions about the current marketing function and the role, he could not even answer them. It is as if he was just given a list of questions to run through.
The interviewed ended with me being advised I would hear back within 10 days - lo and behold, I heard nothing back.
After the first call, I would not want to work for this company anyway, but feel that interview feedback will hopefully make them improve their process and get someone else to conduct the interviews.
