Qualtrics came to every college career fair I attended as a student and even did a special presentation for our department. The recruiters were enthusiastic. I was told to apply online and not a week later I received a call to set up a phone interview. I told a friend who has worked there for years that I was applying and he said he'd put a good word in for me. On the day of the interview I was called from what sounded like a conference room because there was a lot of echo on the other end. The interviewer must not have been more than 22 years old and she sounded as if she didn't have much experience as an interviewer. She only asked a few basic questions, then asked me if I had any. The interview didn't seem professional at all. I assumed I did everything right, but I must have been overqualified - or maybe I'm not a hip, young "bro", which seems to be they type this company is looking for. A few days after the interview I received a generic rejection email saying they were not going to move forward with my application. I asked my friend what happened and he said he'd send my interviewer an email, and then I never heard back from him. When I made an inquiry to to my Qualtrics recruiter, she said they couldn't say anything, but I was welcome to apply again in 6 months. Now I'm happy I didn't get the job because they pay their new employees far below market value. I now have a job with a better company and my salary is far higher. ($20K more than I'd be making at Qualtrics).
