I interviewed for what was described as a new role at Qualtrics. First, a quick phone screen with the recruiter, then another phone interview with a data analyst who had been hired only a few months prior. I asked questions about the role but he was unable to provide anything worthwhile but the call went well and the recruiter emailed and said they wanted to bring me in for in person interviews. This seemed strange since I had not talked to a manager or anyone who could tell me about the actual work.
The onsite interview lacked focus. I was asked to design a data warehouse, which was fine but did not seem relevant to a data analyst role. Then I had a 30 minute lunch with an employee which was enough time to eat half a sandwich. After lunch, I had four consecutive interviews with no breaks. The employees I met with before my interview with the hiring manager could not answer any questions about the role. In hindsight, I should have asked to meet with the hiring manager prior to the onsite. For those of you who are wondering why they are moving so fast--ask for a quick chat with the hiring manager. Please make them value your time!
The best part of my time and effort and over a month and a half of waiting for the onsite interview to get scheduled? I was informed the next day that they would not be moving forward. I was not disappointed, although I regret not spending more time preparing for the support engineer interview as that was the highlight of my experience.
