Applied online for position and received message the next day from recruiter asking to set up a call. Instructions were to call him at the appointed time and he did not answer. I left a detailed message with my number and that I would attempt to call back in 15 min. Received an email that he was running late from an appointment and would call me when he was back at his desk. Over an hour later, he contacted me. It was an initial call to get more information about me and my skills. He advised that he would be providing my information to the hiring manager and I could expect to hear from him in 36-48 hours. When 4 days went by with no response, I sent a follow up email. Again, no response. At this point, I took the hint and crossed the position off my list. It was over two weeks later when I received the generic "thanks but no thanks" email from the "REI Recruiting Team" informing me my application was being moved forward. Disappointing to receive such an impersonal email after having an actual conversation with a member of the recruitment team.
