I had a very similar experience as the other person who wrote an interview review here. I prepared for this interview thoroughly. It was (and still is) advertised falsely. This position is for a Spa Manager and pays 60,000-75,000, whereas the job posting is for a Marketing Manager (75,000-100,000). Very strange and I’m not sure why they’re advertising this way. I spent a lot of time preparing for the Marketing Manager position, so it immediately threw me off a bit when he told me what the position actually was. Nonetheless, I continued, and I felt that we had a great conversation. It lasted the full 30 minutes and I was asked a lot of details/specifics on questions. One question I found strange was, “What are three professional areas that you strongly dislike?”. Overall, I still felt excited about the position and conversation after all of this. He specifically told me to keep an eye on my email for an in-person interview, and said “I will be honest I’m really interested in you”. It has been over a week and I haven’t heard about an in-person interview. One of the weirder experiences I’ve had with all of the misleading and false information.

The first interview was a phone interview, which went very well. It was mostly a flowy conversation and we bounced ideas around. I enjoyed it! Some of the questions I found to be odd or focused on details that didn't seem important to the role (like being asked in detail for multiple things I'm not good at). Other than that, the conversation was great and we went over time.
Here is where it went wrong: I was told about the next step in the interview process/details and to be on the lookout for an email to schedule it after the new year. Insinuating I was moving to the next phase. However, that was mid-December and it is now end of January. I was ghosted even after being told about the next interview. Very poor communication and is wasteful of my time and energy. I'm not going to get my feelings hurt by being communicated with if they moved forward with someone else, but am very put off by being ghosted and it's not good practice as an employer.
