      Candidatura

      Colloquio

This was a 3-step interview process which included screening, meeting one of the founders, and then an interview with the manager above the position. The whole thing was a bit turbulent because after my second interview, I was informed that they needed to pause their search to fill the position due to inability to secure the funding they needed for the role. I'm not sure if this is common practice or not, and I am also not sure why you would begin a search to fill a role if the funding is not already good to go, but maybe I am ignorant to assume that? Either way, it was halted and I continued my search elsewhere. I was not terribly upset about this because the two people I had met with so far gave off strange energy that left an odd taste in the mouth. One of the hiring managers was giving a lot of nervous, contrived enthusiasm which I did not know how to interpret, and the founder gave off a cold, unimpressed/too-busy-to-care impression. None of which was alluring, really. A few months after being informed of the above, I was asked back to do one more interview as the position had opened up again. The final interview was with a different hiring manager, who I liked a lot more than the other two individuals I had met with. She seemed a lot more mellow, down to earth and kind. The interview went well and two hours later I was offered the job. I received, signed, and returned the offer letter and felt pretty OK about it. A week later, I get word back from my top choice company who I had been interviewing with prior to being asked back by Riester. Despite it taking a while, they got back to me with a better offer that I could not turn down. I called the hiring manager at Riester who I had last interviewed with to make her aware of the situation. I was trying to be as mindful/delicate as possible in breaking the news. I apologized for the unfortunate timing and inconvenience. There was silence for a few moments before she said, angrily, "...Thanks for letting me know..." I apologized again and wished them luck in their search but was met with: "I have to jump on a meeting. Good luck" Extremely passive aggressive. Extremely unprofessional. Not OK. Don't ignore these reviews. They are bad. I feel I only *barely* dodged a bullet.
