      Colloquio

I initially saw the job posting my university's website & was interested. I filled out a fairly detailed online application and got a phone call the following evening from the recruiter. She was direct & efficient, asking me a few straightforward questions like what applicable skills I had & why I was interested. After about 10 minutes of talking, she asked me to come in later in that week for a test. She explained that the test wasn't really the kind you should prepare for & was more about seeing if the company & I were the right match. I came for the test 2 days later & was kind of expecting to have an interview after that. Instead, I took the tests (grammar, IQ, & personality) and then left. The tests are certainly challenging, but it's best to think of them as a "try-out" for both parties. If you hate writing, analysis, critical thinking, & problem-solving, this is not the right job for you. If the tests discourage you or you just give up halfway when you hit a really tough one, that's probably a sign to the company that you may not flourish here. After the tests, I got a call later that day to come in for an interview. The first interview was intimidating at first, since it was in a conference room with the recruiter I'd spoken with on the phone plus 5 managers from the company who were hiring. It became clear over the next hour or so though that they were doing it that way so that all the managers would have a chance to meet potential hires & that the best candidates got placed with the most fitting managers. They took notes as I spoke & left time for me to ask them questions at the end (I mainly asked about the hierarchy / how much of the work is independent, etc. I would definitely think about things you want to know about ROI before coming in for the first interview. At the end of that interview, I was given a book & told to read it and come back for a second interview later that week. I read the book cover to cover and took notes. I also made sure that I could picture myself doing the things described in the book (i.e. doing the job) and liking it. For the second interview, there were a few different managers but some familiar faces as well. The interview opened with them asking me what I found interesting, etc. about the book. I told them what I thought, & we launched into more questions. For me, I think my biggest hurdle with the job was simply not having a solid background in business and/or analysis in college. I was worried that would be the weakness that held me back from getting the job, but one great thing about this company is that it hires motivated individuals from any background with the knowledge that motivated individuals are teachable. One interviewer (now my manager) asked me about whether I would find analysis interesting. I told her that I enjoy analysis when I understand the connection between the numbers & their application. I have never been a math person, but that has not been an issue (though there has certainly been a learning curve with certain things). After that interview, I felt pretty confident & also excited about the chance to work for ROI. I got a final callback, had yet another pretty in-depth interview, was offered the job, & came in again to sign papers, etc. It's a thorough and kind of intense interview process, but it works. It's best to view it as a two-sided process that ensures that both parties would benefit from the hire.

      Domanda 1

Unexpected: What was the most recent book you read for pleasure? Difficult: I did not find any of the questions to be particularly difficult. There are questions about strengths & weaknesses, times in other jobs you've had to deliver bad news, work habits, goal-setting habits, etc. - but none of those should be hard if you have a solid understanding of your own educational & professional background / path / story & of the company's business model & values.

The interview process at ROI is fairly extensive. After applying, I received an email requesting a phone interview. It was a very basic 30 minute interview with your standard behavioral questions and inquiries as to why you chose to apply to ROI. The recruiter was very polite and didn't drop any curve-ball questions. Following the interview, I was contacted and told they would like for me to visit the building in Raleigh for assessment tests and a brief, in-person interview. The first assessment I had to take was an 80 question logic test that had to be completed within an hour; this test had a mix of pattern recognition, anagram, and math word problems The second assessment was a grammar test with no time limit and basic grammatical correction/fill in the blank questions. The third assessment was a typing test that can be taken multiple times (they're looking for 50+ WPM). After completing these assessments, there was a second 30 minute interview with the recruiter with questions focusing mainly on my resume. Following this visit, I received an email requesting I return for a final panel interview with the recruiter and the managers leading the department. This interview lasted about 45 minutes and was filled with situational questions and questions about my experience with data analysis. I was contacted the evening of my final interview and told they would like to extend an offer. The interview process took around 3-4 weeks and it was very clear they want to hire individuals that will fit in well. The ROI employees I interacted with through the interview process were incredibly professional, responsive, and a pleasure to work with.

ROI's interview process is very thorough, and for me, took place over a series of four rounds which were conducted over about a month's time. Round 1: 15-20 minute phone interview. Very typical behavioral questions and briefly went over my former job experience. At the end of the interview, I was invited into the office for the next round. Round 2: Started out with a brief tour of the office, which I thought was a nice touch but was just a bit awkward since you are asked to wear interview attire and the rest of the office was dressed casually. After the tour, you move on to what many consider to be the most polarizing part of the interview process which are the assessments. I was put into a conference room by myself and given a series of assessments, which includes 80 logic questions which you are given 60 minutes to complete. They varied from mathematical, to vocabulary, anagrams, patterns, etc. I really do believe ROI just wants to test what thinking style you respond best to and if that would properly correlate to the position you are under consideration for. After this, there are quick grammar and typing assessments. Round 3: Short in-person interview. My interviewer was the same person from HR who performed my phone interview. It is basically a more expanded version of the phone interview, with more in-depth behavioral questions. It took about 20 minutes. Round 4: Final in-person panel interview. I spoke with the same HR representative I had been speaking with for my first two interviews, the head of HR, and the head of the department I would be working under. The interview was very straight-forward, and all the questions were targeted at why I was interested in ROI, what I was looking for in a new position, and my work/educational background. No questions are targeted to catch you off guard, I found they were all straight forward and directed at truly gathering if my experience and personality were a good fit for the position for firm. Overall, despite the interview process being longer than usual, I found it to be largely a positive experience, with everyone being friendly and responsive throughout.

I applied this position through school' s career system. The HR reach out to me very quickly after I submitted my application. Two days later we set a first round phone interview. The first round interview is very basic questions. The HR didn't give any feedback right after my answers, which I felt bad.
