The company contacted me directly on LinkedIn and invited me to apply for a Project Manager position. Initially, the salary range seemed aligned with the market, but then it was suddenly reduced. Despite that, I agreed to continue, mostly out of curiosity and interest in the challenge. The test task was presented as something that should take “around 4 hours.” In reality, it was a full product prototype: multi-role logic, wallet and payment flow, job promotions, user experience mapping, and UI screens. Essentially a solo product sprint. That kind of assignment is not only unrealistic but also shows a lack of understanding of the PM role and how proper product teams function. It took them about a week to send feedback, which felt cold and dismissive. No real engagement with the work or the time spent. It left the impression that the task was given reluctantly, and the result wasn’t even considered with much care. In the end, it felt like they wasted my time and energy and disrespected my effort. I know feedback is part of any process, but this one felt like being told to build a house in 4 hours, then criticized for the roof not being perfect.
