The first discussion was informational with Executive Recruiting. Very positive experience with a lot of great information shared about the company, the role etc. There was also good information i got to share about my experiences and background and how they could help the company. The next stage was a video discussion with the hiring manager - another positive experience, with the hiring manager explaining the business context and the specifics of the role. I was asked good questions about my technical as well as leadership competencies and experiences and how they help fulfill the requirements of the role. There was good back and forth in the discussion. The last stage was a full day of in person interviews with the leadership team including the senior most leaders in the company. This was the highlight of my experience. The leaders were very engaging, interested, welcoming and cordial. They shared insightful information and background on the business, the company the opportunities ahead and set good context for the role. They asked very good questions, probing into my experiences and skill set and were also very interested in how I would fit in culturally with the team. I got to have lunch with the senior leaders and over lunch the discussion was around culture both within the company and probing into cultures that I had worked in to see areas of overlap and opportunity. The leaders made me feel very comfortable and welcome and irrespective of the outcome of the interviews, I knew that this was a team I was very interested in - for now or for the future. The follow up to this was a discussion with the hiring manager and with the Executive Recruiter, both of which were excellent discussions sharing some feedback on my meetings. The team was very professional and flexible with the process compared to any other company I have worked with over the last 20+ years. The scheduling, the timing, followup, responsiveness and process were world class and I cannot think of anything they could have done differently or better.
