I was contacted for a phone screening very quickly after applying for the role, two days after submitting my application. After that took place, I waited another month to talk to the hiring manager. The virtual interview started a few minutes late, because the hiring manager was coming from another meeting. During the actual interview, the person's dog was in the background chewing on shoes and the interviewer had to pause a few times to address that. It was a little distracting. At this point, it has been two months since the virtual interview and nobody from the hiring team has closed the loop with me. I was deeply invested in the organization's mission, but did not have a positive first impression all things considered. In my previous experience interviewing with different organizations, all candidates that go through at least a phone screening get an official rejection email at the end of the hiring process. Disappointed to see that isn't the standard with Reading Partners.
