From start to finish, the most disorganized, chaotic and unprofessional interview process I have ever experienced in over 20 years.
The recruiter, the one a company trusts to represent and make a great first impression, was at first contact with me doing as one would expect.
On May 5, I was presented with a lengthy document with questions concerning current role, salary expectations, and many areas to provide experience and approaches to agile.
On May 20, I received a request for dates/times for initial interview...great! About 20 minutes later I received a "whoops", we are not ready for this process to start. And then...I get the same email I had received to start the process, please complete this lengthy document.
That was quickly followed by an email from the recruiter blaming "the system" and to be patient.
On June 2, I received the same request asking for dates/times to begin the interview process.
On June 7, I went through the first round, it felt like it went well and I did receive a request for a second interview soon thereafter. I immediately sent "thank you" emails to the two, first round interviewers.
On June 9, I went through the second interview, felt pretty good about it, and sent thank you emails to the interviewees. Then....silence....and waiting....and waiting. I emailed the recruiter reiterating my interest and asking for feedback and/or next steps. Nothing. I waited five days and sent a follow-up and this time cc:d the hiring manager who was on the first interview.
On June 15, the hiring manager responded, apologized and stated to hang tight as they were preparing for round three, aka final round.
On June 21, I received the request for dates/times, scheduled the final round and went through the interview on June 24. Again, I thought it went well, sent thank you notes, and waited for the outcome.
The next day, June 25, I asked the recruiter for feedback and hoping to see what would happen next, an offer of course!
Without ever hearing back from the recruiter, an ex-colleague who worked there let me know on July 13 that they went another direction.
On the date of this review, August 16, I have yet to hear from Red Hat and in their system, I still show as in the "Interview" process.
As I said at the start, chaotic and unprofessional.
PS - I have the entire email thread substantiating everything presented above.
