Telephone Interview A Senior Project Manager telephoned at the agreed time, She explained the role and position for approximately five minutes then we discussed my relevant experience and CV. The call was very standard and lasted approximately 30 minutes. Face to Face Interview I was invited to a first interview and was asked to prepare a 10 minute presentation on a specific subject. On arrival, I was welcomed by the same Manager and was introduced to her colleague, who was also taking part in the interview process. I was asked to make my presentation which was received well. After the presentation we discussed their role, my career, experience and CV in more detail then discussed Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Next, the interviewers alternated in asking ‘quick fire’ situational questions; “What would you do in XYZ scenario” etc. The ‘quick fire questions’ lasted 10 minutes or so. After the end of the quick fire questions the interviewers asked if I would like a break, a drink or a lie down in a darkened room (nice humorous touch!). The interviewers then initiated some informal exchange of questions from both sides. Redgate gave the impression that they care for, and value, all staff. During the conversation it became apparent that there was a minor mismatch between my background and the background they were looking for yet still worth meeting face to face. Both interviewers were professional and charming; the whole process was a very positive experience. Redgate did not offer me a position but were kind enough to write a very flattering email detailing all of the qualities they really liked about me and they also explained exactly what experience was missing from my career. This was a thoroughly positive experience and I cannot praise Redgate enough for having a good company culture, employing charming staff and executing the recruitment process in a perfect way.
