It took them a month or two to reply to my application over the phone. I was invited to an interview, in which they asked one question: "Do you like movies?" Extremely easy. You go over paperwork and availability after that. You will need to bring in two to three references from teachers, past supervisors, etc. If you get the job, you will then have to complete training over the computer for 2 to 3 hours, and another 1-3 hours of watching videos and any other training online at the actual cinema itself. You get to train with everyone after that. Some tips: - Your weekend hours will be very heavy, especially if you are over 18. They want at least two days during your weekends, out of Friday/Sat/Sun. - Be prepared to stay until at least 11PM if you're a minor, even on weekdays. If you're over 18, they really try to get you to close unless they have a lot of 18+ workers to begin with. Unless you work only mornings, this is usually what they do, I've noticed. If you're over 18 in general, your hours might suck. - You start out on concessions where I am; they don't ask where you want to start. I assume this is how it goes for most young people, not sure about anyone older. - Training is mostly being thrown into the situation and asking a lot of questions yourself. Be prepared for that. - ASK QUESTIONS! - Check out how other workers dress. You don't always need to adhere to the dress code. It's more casual than you think where I am.
