      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Relativity Space (Pass Christian, MS) nel mese di apr 2021

      Colloquio

Round 1 was a phone interview with a few basic technical questions about aerospace instrumentation and engineering fundamentals, along with a couple "getting to know you questions" about why the interest in the company/position. Round 2 was another phone interview with a different team member, largely similar in style and scope to round 1. The final stage I covered was a 3-hour Zoom interview broken out into a few different sessions. The first 50 minute session included a 30 minute presentation given by me about my experiences and fit with the company, followed by a short Q&A. The next two sessions focused on deep dive technical material about instrumentation, circuits, thermodynamics, plumbing systems, and pumps.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Why are you interested in the company and position? Describe how a strain gauge functions. Describe how a pressure transducer functions. How would you design a pressure transducer that doesn't rely on resistance changes? Why is it undesirable to use a strain gauge in a simple voltage divider? What advantage does the wheatstone bridge setup yield? Draw a Rankine or Brayton cycle on a T-S diagram, how would you extract additional work from the cycle without raising the max temperature? Design a plumbing and instrumentation system to pump 1000 gallons of water from one tank to another tank which is elevated 30 meters above the first. Others.

      Colloquio

I had an email describing the role, and then a one-on-one Teams meeting with a whiteboard, where I went deep into my projects and answered technical problems related to solid mechanics, fluids, or thermodynamics.

Explain the thermodynamic process of evaporating a full glass of water on a stove.

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Relativity Space (Stennis Space Center, MS) nel mese di mag 2026

      Colloquio

1 on 1 interview with a lead engineer. Asked in technical depth about projects. Asked to choose two subjects from solids, fluids, thermo, heat transfer to be asked questions on. Be ready to defend your answers with equations and answer why you decided to answer that why.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

A large basin is filled with water. It leads down to a sealed container. How high will the water in the container get? Another variation where the height difference between the two containers gets smaller. And then another variation where the container volume gets halved.

      Colloquio

Asked me to talk about any one of my technical projects on my resume and then asked difficult follow up questions about it. You need to have all your basic physics down pat, because I forgot some of the basics and it made the interview very difficult. They also asked two technical questions unrelated to the project.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

How can I found out how long it will take for an entire pot of water to boil?
