Ho presentato la mia candidatura di persona. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Reonic (Berlino) nel mese di dic 2024
Colloquio
I went through a lengthy interview process at Reonic GmbH, including take-home assignments, multiple rounds, and an onsite visit. Despite receiving positive feedback after the cultural and values round, I was rejected at the final stage with vague reasoning about "cultural fit." The feedback I requested post-rejection was ignored. Additionally, I noticed a lack of diversity during my visit, and the same role was re-posted shortly after. The process felt unfair and left a bad impression. Clearer communication and better transparency would go a long way in improving the candidate experience.

I had a good first few rounds with the HR and the technical interview . Than i was given a home task assignment . i was given a senior software engineer task which was above the level i applied for
I completed the task which contained a logical task , a front end and a backend part
Answered all the questions and all the bonus points
However i was surprised with a vague feedback on a rejection with two touch points that doesn't make sense
The front end task says that you're allowed to use any technology and any language however i got rejected because i used javaScript instead of TypeScript
Than i was given a vague comment on a bug in the sidebar which isn't even entirely correct and seemed more of a nit pick
No feedback provided on actual features , no bonus points addressed no backend nor logical questions reviewed .
It feels like reonic tech team could not properly review the task and settled with a random meaningless feedback just for the sake of giving a feedback
I do hope that the company pays attention on who reviews these task home assignment and that they stick to what they ask for in cases where they specify that any technology is fine than proceed to highlight that they did not like the choice made
In this case i would also challenge the javascript vs typescript in a small UI coding task that has barely any need for typescript capabilities
Overall seems the reviewer was not very experienced and did not understand the deeper meaning on Why we use certain languages
