After an online application, I was setup to talk with another TDM, who wasn't the hiring manager or part of the hiring team. He was just the first point of contact for the company. The interviewer did warn me that the process takes a long time. The interview started with my interest in gaming, and which were my favourite games. I am not a gamer, by any means. My strength lies in the technical, people, cultural things that run a tech company. I have a lot of enthusiasm for various verticals of technology & passionately believe that gaming could reach a wider audience if the companies included a more diverse set of candidates. The interview lasted an hour, going over various behavioural questions, technical aspects, company culture, what I could bring to the table etc. The company culture, for a gaming company, seemed too rigid and uncompromising on the candidates they choose. For ex: they are not interested in women, they are not interested in older experienced people --> all simply because they aren't gamers.
