Colloquio
It was over the phone and I was really only asked one question; "Walk us through your event management process". Admittedly, I blundered my way through the question.
A few days later I received and email saying that they were going to pursue other candidates as it would be too difficult for me to work full time at Riot AND go to school. At no point had I stated that I would be in school nor did anyone ask me that. After clarifying that I had no intentions of being in school, they told me that their decision was also based on my lack of event management experience in areas other than conventions. My resume pretty clearly states that my other event experience lies in theatre, concert, and gaming as well as having a formal education in event production of all kinds. Additionally, had I ever been asked about my experience I would have included my event work in online gaming communities, trade shows and expos, meet and greets, broadcasts, festivals, workshops, faires, etc.
I found it really upsetting that the reasons they gave me for not pursuing me as an applicant were all things they seemed to assume. If they just genuinely found me to be inadequate I would have worked hard for the next year to become more qualified. But they really just seemed to assume things about me and move on.

I applied in mid-November 2015 and my first interview was today, which was over the phone. Lasted about 25 minutes.
The recruiter was super friendly, seemed interested in me, my answers and was relaxed.
It became clear, early on, that I was not the best candidate for this position as Riot would prefer someone with LOADS of professional experience, especially in logistics. If you're a Line Producer, or have experience at a television/news station, then you'd be a great fit. Also, they prefer someone who is an AVID gamer, primarily LOL, which also makes sense as this is a player-focused company.
While I don't anticipate getting a call-back, though, that would be amazing, I am pleased with the way things went. If I was playing LOL for at least a couple years, and had Line Producer experience, then I'd probably be moving on to the next round.
I have nothing negative to report.

The recruiting personnel were delightful. We had an interview over the phone. I completely fumbled the first question and it pretty much was down hill from there. That said, they were incredibly nice about it and they also gave me plenty of insight into the company and were willing to talk with me about my interview and application materials after the fact. I have never had that opportunity and probably never will again until I apply with them again. Heartbreaking, but pleasant experience.
