Within a couple days of completing an online application I received an email inviting me to a recruitment event, I was able to book a slot for the time and day I preferred. There were about 35 people in my slot, we were invited upstairs into a room where we were put in allocated tables depending on the role we applied for.
we then played a game so we could get to know a bit about each other and relax, then the process started, we were required to work as a table to answer some questions e.g. how do you deliver great customer service? & what do you think is required of the operations team? this can be difficult if there is a person on the table who takes over, talks a lot to try and impress the head of the operations team who was observing us, so make sure you have input and get your views heard.
we then had to show what we knew about fashion and river island by picking a celebrity and talking about how we would go about dressing them, this was quite tricky to do on the spot but make sure you mention key trends and current styles e.g monochrome, disco pants, patterned crop tops, curb chain. Even if your not completely sure what your saying, the observer should be impressed with your knowledge.
Lastly we did the one on one interviews, one at a time, which was quite nerve racking waiting your turn, but once it starts there's nothing you wouldn't expect from an interview, typical questions about what you know about the store, previous experience (a lot), avaliability etc. Just make sure to research the brand, current trends and typical interview questions and you should be fine! :)
