The first interview was straightforward, one on one virtual interview with mostly behavioral and a few technical questions. A week after my first interview I was notified they wanted to meet for a second, in-person interview. About two weeks after scheduling my in-person interview they changed it to a virtual format. Then, the day of the interview the hiring manager sent me an email 2 hours before to let me know "Due to changes with the internship scope we are no longer moving forward with this position". No further explanation was given. It felt very disrespectful to be notified on such short notice without even the courtesy of a phone call or any explanation whatsoever. Perhaps temper your excitement if they schedule an interview with you...
