I attended a graduate geotechnical engineering interview with Robert Bird Group. The process included a technical assessment followed by an interview discussion with the engineering team. The technical assessment focused on fundamental geotechnical engineering concepts such as effective stress, drained vs undrained behaviour, soil testing, foundation selection, pile design, retaining wall design, and interpretation of borehole logs. The interview also included discussion of technical answers and general competency questions. The interview lasted around 1–1.5 hours and was fairly technical for a graduate-level role.
