Probably one of the best interviewing experiences I've had! Everything leading up to the onsite was professional, efficient, and clear. Both the recruiter and coordinator helped arrange the next phase and provided answers to all my questions. The first thing that happened onsite was a warm greeting from the office manager, who was incredibly welcoming and knowledgable about all the awesome company accolades.
The interviewing panel was thoughtfully assembled to give me insight into a diverse set of teams, personalities, and skillsets. Interviewers provided guidance through exercises and were sure to explore my skills thoroughly. Each 1:1 was loosely structured, allowing discussions to feel relaxed and collaborative.
I left my onsite feeling like the objective of the interviews were not only to assess what I could contribute to the company, but also how Roblox could help develop me in my career. It really seems like Roblox aims to make the entire process a positive experience that provides an accurate peek into the work environment there.

Applied online and a recruiter reached out a few days later to schedule a phone screen. The call was your typical initial phone screen with a recruiter. We went over the company and details of the position as well as my experience. Unfortunately took an odd turn when we got to salary expectations. I answered with the typical I’m looking for something competitive with the area, position, and my experience. They would not accept that answer and became very pushy in getting me to give them a number. When I asked the range for the position they declined to answer. I was very surprised by this reaction to a pretty routine question. Whether it was just the person I spoke to or a culture within the organization, the reaction was very unprofessional and shady. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t proceed without a number, however, organizations that do this typically have a history of giving lowball offers.
