Short informal chat with resourcing partner, then another informal chat with Sales Director. Prepared to this as if it were an interview although was told it would be relatively informal 'get to know you'. Wasn't really an interview, didn't ask me any questions, which put me on the back foot slightly as had I had prepared. Was advised the next stage would be a meeting with Chief Revenue Officer. Repeatedly I asked if lack of sector experience was an issue (I asked this at each stage) and was told no, but then I stopped hearing from them as it turns out they wanted someone with industry sector experience. Not sure why they spoke to me in the first place? My CV clearly shows no sector experience and I was honest about that during the pre-screening. Also, there were no interview questions, so not really given any opportunity to demonstrate transferable experience. Wish they'd been honest about the experience requirement from the start instead of repeatedly saying it wasn't a problem because I do feel my time was wasted, to a certain degree, from the beginning.
