Colloquio
He asked me 2 questions and then talked about himself for the next 20 minutes. It was completely unprofessional he had also forgotten we had an appointment in the first place. When I asked what I'd be doing he couldn't give a specific answer but said he expected long hours including weekends. It was also unpaid.

Was skeptical after reading the poor reviews on Glassdoor , but I thought I would give it a try. I wish i trusted my gut. First,my interviewer was 25 minutes late and did not call the office to tell me he was running late, and the room in which i was 'interviewed' in was very cluttered and filled with boxes. I listened to my interviewer talk at me about how Rockit Ranch is a '55 million dollar company' and how they lure rich people in with gift cards, then asked me what i thought marketing was in the restaurant industry. Not once did he talk to me about the internship program until I asked and even then, the description was very vague. On the website it says the marketing intern (unpaid) will contribute to the book donation program, help with social media, etc. and my interviewer (a manager!!) never mentioned these tasks. He was also very rude and unprofessional when asking me questions and liked to say "oh no you're mistaken" when giving my responses. I heard that about 5 times throughout the interview.
Also, when it comes to an unpaid internship the company needs to put in an effort to sell themselves to the potential intern, not just the intern selling himself/herself to the interviewer.
Overall, a very unprofessional process and interview and I strongly encourage potential interns to NOT interview here, there are so many better options and you should trust the reviews on this site! My biggest clue about how shockingly awful this company is was when I asked the present marketing intern if he was offered a full time position. His response? He is working the door part time at one of the company's clubs. This says it all!

The interview process was rushed, but asked about my skills and experiences in a very concise way. However, didn't get any insight into what I would be doing. I did really enjoy the internship as a whole though. I learned a lot about social media marketing, and maintaining the rockit blog on Chicago's social and entertainment scene. I also learned how to make connections with restaurants and stores downtown Chicago, and how to promote the restaurants and nightclub. Overall, it was mostly a fun experience, and decently educational.
