I applied for an entry-level marketing position and found the interview process to be unnecessarily long and drawn out. While I appreciate that the company values cultural fit, most of the individuals I interviewed with would not have been working directly with the person in this role. For an entry-level position, three interviews should be more than sufficient. Instead, the process extended over two months and totaled roughly 8 hours of interviews. It began with a 30–45 minute call with the recruiter, followed by six virtual video interviews—two of which were with the hiring manager. If a company is still undecided after three or even four interviews, it may be a sign of internal inefficiencies or misalignment in the hiring process.
