Two rounds of interviews:
1st Round (Technical): It was online, both the interviewees were based in Germany. It was mostly focused on my projects and past work experience. I was asked to show demos of some of my projects and questions based on that, such as Bias variance trade-off in machine learning, how my ML pipeline worked, data drift detection, RAG and chunking methods, TopK, Top P, etc.
2nd Round (Behavioral Round): The engineering manager of the team conducted the interview. Starting was a basic introduction of both of us. He asked me my reasons for joining SAP, why I left my previous job, what my plans are for my career, and what my expectations are my expectations from a manager, etc.

Colloquio
Consists of 3 rounds, 2 panel technical interviews and a final round with the hiring manager which is a mix of technical and behavioral questions.
The interview process was average with the interviewers themselves being friendly. But the overall logistics was a mixed bag. The first round was a technical round that asked a wide range of topics from python syntax to kubernetes/git. The focus on pure data science concepts was minimal and I believe the team was looking for people who had prior experience dealing with production environments. I was able to answer roughly 60% of the questions well but the others I did not answer correctly.
The second round was technical (but only 30 mins) focused on past projects while asking the specifics about an architecture that I used.
The final round was slightly messy as I was only given a day's notice to schedule and attend the interview (informed mon evening for a tues morning interview) and as such could not prepare well. This was mostly a behavioral and communication round where you were assessed on your ability to explain concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
I was promised a reply within 3 days but got ghosted by HR after that only to receive a standard rejection about a month later. This was disappointing for someone who went through the entire interview process.
