Colloquio per Tech and Field Electrical Engineer

      27 feb 2018
      Dipendente anonimo
      Offerta accettata
      Esperienza neutra
      Colloquio facile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'altra fonte. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso SLB nel mese di ago 2014

      Colloquio

The interview took place when I was already an intern. Was flown out from Houston to a field location in Wyoming. Visited the field facility which was servicing that region. Then went to a rig site and talked to the Field Engineers onsite. Back at the hotel, recruiters presented many slides on the different segments and their work. Did some group activities and had the interview on the second day

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Are there any restrictions on where you would work? After seeing the presentations and the field life, do you think it's a fit for you? Why would you like to do this role?

      Colloquio

Applied online for an REMS(Electrical) position. Got a call, almost a month later setting up a phone interview. The interview was in most part, going through my resume and my knowledge of schlumberger and their process, a few behavioral questions were put forth, as well. Asked to expect result in a couple of weeks or so. Three weeks down, I get a phone call from one of their technology centers scheduling an onsite interview. Was asked to prepare an 8-min technical presentation on a thesis/internship/academic/previous work of choice. On the day of interview, I was given a presentation about the tech center and the expectation/benefits of schlumberger life, followed by a 1 hour extensive tour of the facility. Once this was done, the whole group (7-8 mem) sat down to interview me. The questions spanned everything from resume-based, to behavioral, to technical. But through out the interview, the team made sure that there was a cordial atmosphere and I was not being stressed out. Was finally told to expect an on-site field interview as well. The second onsite (Field) interview was at Oklahoma. 2-day process. A few site visits followed by a team building activity that involved building a color-water pump. Was told that inputs from both the onsite teams would be evaluated before a final decision was taken. Overall, a good research of the company and the interview process, asking good questions during the site visits, and adequate preparation for the presentation/technical part would be a good way forward. The offer finally arrived in July, with the first initial application submitted online in march. Mine was a bit time consuming since I had to attend two different onsite interviews and the teams had to send in their assessment.
