      Colloquio

My interview with SP plus began on a very positive note. The hiring manager spoke as if I were already moving toward an offer. He told me I was very close to being selected, outlined what the transition would look like, and encouraged me to stay in contact with him. He specifically asked me to reach out after the interview so that we could continue the conversation. I followed his request and sent a professional thank you message. I never received any reply. I reached out again, assuming he might have missed the first message. Again there was complete silence. There was no confirmation, no update, and no explanation. What made it worse was that there was never any formal follow up from him at all. Instead of responding directly, which would have shown basic respect for a candidate he had encouraged to stay in touch, he simply avoided communication. The absence of a response felt like a lack of personal accountability. It was disappointing to see someone in a leadership role choose not to address the situation or close the loop professionally. After all of that, I eventually found out through an automated message that they had moved forward with someone else. There was no acknowledgment of the discussion we had. The way the process ended raised real concerns about reliability and the way SP plus represents itself to candidates. You said: I found out that i didnt get the role when another former coworker of mine happened to have gotten the offer ChatGPT said: Here is a fully revised version that includes this detail and keeps the tone professional enough for Glassdoor. No dashes and no flagged words. My interview with SP plus started out very positive. The hiring manager told me I was very close to receiving an offer and encouraged me to reach out to him directly after the interview so we could stay connected. He spoke as if next steps were already lining up, which gave me the impression that I was a strong finalist. I followed his request and emailed him a thank you message along with a brief follow up. I never received a response. I reached out again, thinking perhaps the first note was missed. Again there was complete silence. There was no acknowledgement, no update, and no explanation of any kind. There was also no official follow up from the company. Instead of receiving a status update or even a simple reply from the hiring manager, I eventually found out I had not been selected when a former coworker reached out to let me know they had received the offer. Learning this from someone outside the process, rather than from the hiring manager who encouraged me to keep in touch, felt extremely unprofessional and showed a lack of accountability. This experience left me concerned about how SP plus handles communication and how little regard was shown for candidates who invest time and effort. A transparent and respectful process would have reflected much better on the company.
