Phone interview followed by on-site interview. Gave a 45 technical presentation during the on-site interview. The rest of the day was a series of 1-1 20 minute conversations with technical staff. I saw technical conversations because that what it felt like, I know I was being interviewed but it felt like a series of brainstorming sessions with senior scientists. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. I would have said I enjoyed it regardless if I got the job or not.

Applied online, and didn't hear back for 3+ weeks. Cold-emailed some scientists working there inquiring as to the status of my application, and lo and behold, I get a call from the recruiter the following day. This was a standard HR phone screening call, and about a week later, talked to two other scientists (including potential supervisor) on the phone. They invited me to visit the campus and give a research presentation 3 weeks after that. After the presentation and meeting with everyone, I was told that I would hear back on hiring status within a week. Several weeks go by, and...nothing. Reached out to the supervisor and reiterated interest in the position. A month later, I hear back from the recruiter with a rejection. A month later, I actually manage to land a position somewhere else and 2-3 weeks into the new job, get an e-mail from the supervisor at SRI asking if I was still available. I was so angry that I couldn't respond for several days...they had their chance if they wanted me!!!
