Interviewed in person. Very friendly. Had an opportunity to talk with the entire team across a broad spectrum of experience level. The job description was explained very well and thoroughly.
Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso SSL (Palo Alto, CA) nel mese di mar 2019
Colloquio
I had a 30 minute phone screen, in which the manager got on the phone and told me he was going to ask me several questions, he might interrupt my answers, and there wouldn't be time for me to ask questions. The questions he asked included "Tell me about yourself", "Tell me about a decision you had to make and how you arrived at that decision", "Tell me about a time you worked on a team", and "Tell me what you know about satellites". He then told me I would hear from him within a week.
A recruiter called me the next day to invite me for an on-site, which we scheduled for the following week. The on-site was an all day interview in which I had a 15 minute 1:1 with a recruiter, and then 5 one-hour 1:1s with the managers and some team members. SSL's interviewing process is 100% behavioral; no technical questions. They took me to lunch in the cafeteria. The day ended with a 30 minutes meeting with their CORE engineering leaders (CORE is their program for new hires).
I heard from the recruiter 8 days later that I did not receive an offer.
They were really friendly and it was more of a discussion than an interrogation. It was an enjoyable experience. It was an on campus college interview and I did not pursue any further.
