They video-called me a few times and sent me some design exercises to complete before a proper in-person interview. When I arrived for the interview at their office in Neutral Bay, the manager introduced me to nearly all the team members, gave me a thorough tour, and assigned me a couple of coding tasks. Unfortunately, I only managed to complete one task, as the position I was applying for was a design role, not a developer position. Overall, they were extremely friendly. Even when the manager informed me that I didn’t get the job due to not finishing one of the tasks, he did so with a smile and encouraged me to apply again in the future. His lack of sensitivity and understanding of the stressful job-hunting process was evident, likely because he has spent a significant part of his life at the company. It was one of the most awkward, positively toxic, and frustrating experiences I've ever had.
