      Colloquio per Entry Level Marketing

      2 feb 2021
      Candidato anonimo a colloquio
      Arlington, TX
      Nessuna offerta
      Esperienza negativa
      Colloquio facile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 2 giorni. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso SVR Marketing (Arlington, TX) nel mese di feb 2021

      Colloquio

First interview was over Zoom. Wasn’t an interview, it was a sales pitch. Incredibly nonspecific. Didn’t take any questions, didn’t ask any questions. Just had the candidates (about 8-9 of us in the zoom call) fill out a questionnaire to make it to next round. Second interview: met at a very busy office suite. The company shares space with half a dozen other “marketing groups”. I was introduced to hiring manager. I think her real title is “Corporate Trainer”. We walked outside and 2 blocks down the street to a donut shop to do interview. Lots of vague “direct marketing” talk. Proceeded to ask about my employment and education. Interviewer downplayed my resume (Managed 4-5 people, MBA degree) by saying “most people I’m interviewing are pursuing their PhD. Do you think you might be interested in that?” And then, “most people I’m interviewing manage 50-100 people”. Quite clearly lying and posturing to make me feel like I would be under qualified for this position so that I would then feel grateful when they eventually make an offer. Interviewer was generally rude and a little pushy. This job isn’t exactly an MLM. But it’s close. It is a 100% commission based sales job where you canvass people at malls or stores to buy Spectrum internet from you. The interviewer actually drew what I recognize as an MLM on a page of my notepad while she was explaining the org structure. After letting the interviewer give their pitch for maybe 25 minutes, I politely asked that I be removed from consideration for this “position”. Stay away.
