The hiring manager seems to be rude and willing to break laws. I applied online, and a few days later got the call for an interview. Then, when I went to the interview, the manager asked which position did I apply for. After I answered, the manager said it doesn't seem like that position is open anymore but put me for bagging groceries or courtesy clerk, and then the manager checked my availability, and after asking why am I not available on Sundays, I mentioned that I go to church that day. The manager said that the employees for that position need to be available on Sundays due to that day being the busiest day. Then I said that I agree to be available on Sundays and to update it on the application. Then she said I was good to go and that I should be getting a call next week. I never received a call or response in any way! Then, I tried to call several times when that next week was past, and one of those times, when being transferred to the manager, the hold was on, and then it suddenly hung up. Then I eventually managed to reach the hiring manager by phone, and the hiring manager said that they hired another candidate. So first of all, why the heck would you not bother informing those who won't be hired about it in any way? People can't read minds! This isn't the 4th millenium! And it's outright rude to do things like that! Second of all, it seems suspicious that the manager intends to discriminate against religious people who first said that they aren't available on the day of their service even if they then change their minds and say their available. Perhaps, the manager was assuming that I could have attempted requesting a Sunday off at least rarely. I mean, if you exclude religious people from the possibility of being hired even after agreeing to working those days, it becomes unlawful and becomes discrimination by religion, which can result in a 4, 5 or 6 digit fine (Most likely not on the 4s). And it's also dumb to not hire someone simply because their parent(s) has accompanied them to the location in the inside.
