This position is incredibly competitive. After submitting a detailed cover letter and resume--showing my experience working with diverse groups and outreach in communities--they emailed me to come in for a screening. Once I arrived at their administrative floor, I met with my interviewer, who asked about my interest about working for the City Library and my hobbies in general. This lasted for about 10 minutes, then she gave me a list of books to find throughout the library. They prefer you to complete this within an hour (30 minutes or less is preferable). This is only the first part of the screening round.
It was very easy, they asked some standard interview questions about why I wanted the job and then I did a shelving test to see if I could do the job well and quickly

First I went to a job screening at the main library. A couple weeks later I was interviewed at the specific branch where I was hoping to work. That was in 2015. I applied and went through the screening process again in 2017 and that time, after the questions portion, there was a list of books and call numbers I was given to find throughout the library.
