I was initially really exciting about Samsara based on what I'd heard about the company through acquaintances and Glassdoor reviews. I submitted my resume online and through and aquaintance's internal referral. I initially received an automated rejection about 2 weeks later. No big deal. A month following that, I received another email asking to schedule a time for a phone interview. I thought why not, and scheduled it for later that week. Five minutes into the scheduled time, I received an email requesting to reschedule for the following week. Again, I thought it was no big deal and agreed to the proposed time. Once I received the phone call, the recruiter seemed quite disengaged and uninterested in speaking to me. I asked two basic questions about the company. She spoke to both of them, but it would be a stretch to say that she answered them. After my second question, 15 minutes total had gone by, and she cut off any further questions. She told me I would hear back in a few days. I received an email saying they would be passing on my candidacy. I'm not sure what the intention was behind the process, but overall it seemed like a waste of everyone's time.

I had applied via referral. The first round was a phone interview with the hiring manager. I was hoping to get selected because of my background but that didn't happen.
