Long story short, this is a phishing scam. I was able to do my research during the process and I almost fell for it despite the red flags. I was emailed asking me to reach out to the company recruiter via Microsoft Teams. They "hired" me in less than 24 hrs after a stream of 15 generic interview questions. Several times they asked about what bank I used for direct deposit, and eventually wanted to send me a check to buy company equipment. DO NOT give them any information. Call Sangamo directly if you're skeptical. I did my due diligence to alert Sangamo, as they are a legitimate company. This opportunity directly is a scam. After I raised my suspicious with the "recruiter", I was blocked on Teams.
