Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Scotiabank (Toronto, ON) nel mese di ott 2023
Colloquio
Interview process was very disorganized.
First interview was with HR, and it looks as if the job posting was a scam as even the recruiter said the role did not sound like a Software Developer role. He was nice enough to forward my resume to an open Associate Software Developer position.
Second interview was with the Development Manager and Tech Lead. The questions were mostly about Spring Boot and Multithreading.
Questions were a bit more advanced for an entry level position, but seemed fair as I can see why they are asked.
Third interview was full of red flags. The interview was supposed to be with an assessment panel. Here, I saw the following red flags:
- building went through new security measures, no emails or phone calls addressing this
- the interviewer was 10 minutes late, apparently waiting inside
- the "assessment panel" was only one person, with the other interviewer not even bothering to show up
- interviewer was not even part of the team, and they did not know what the team does in detail
- the interviewer provided very generic answers to my questions like "tell me something about Scotiabank that makes working here enjoyable" and "tell me about the learning opportunities at Scotiabank"
