This was the strangest interview experience I've ever had. It was for a human resources position and it began with an online assessment that gathered information about how I approach my job, how I would react to specific scenarios, and general work ethic. At the end of the assessment, I was instantly offered an interview, along with a choice of interview dates and times. I selected my date/time, and on that day, went to the store location to which I'd been directed to go. When I got there, it was a complete ghost town; the store seemed completely empty. I could not find the human resources office, so I went looking for an employee. I finally found a man working in the appliances department. He told me there wasn't really an HR office, and he would show me where I needed to go. As we walked, he started telling me that there had been a human resources person working there, but he had died about three weeks earlier. So then I knew why they were looking for a new HR person! Long story short -- there was another woman there who had been scheduled to interview for the position at the exact same time. However, the double-booking ended up not being an issue because the position had already been filled a week earlier! I could not believe they scheduled two people at the same time to interview for a position that did not exist, and had no idea that either of us was going to be there. The man who helped me said that when he showed up for his interview, no one knew he was coming either, so this is apparently a normal occurence at Sears. It was the creepiest, most unprofessional "interview" experience I've ever had. In reference to the next question, rather than easy or difficult, I'd just say the interview was weird.
