      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Securitas (New York, NY)

      Colloquio

I applied online in mid-August. Received an email back within 48 hours requesting my availability for a video interview. I interviewed the next afternoon. I met with the manager who contacted me for the interview, as well as a second individual (he provided his first name, but did not mention what his role was or if he was with Securitas or with the company this role was going to support). The call lasted 30 minutes and was exclusively behavioral questions - name a time when ..., how did you respond? That was it. I didn't have much to ask about the role since the position listing was thorough and I was aware of the salary range the role would be offered, so I didn't ask any questions after this. I was not given any more info on the company or on the role then, just a thank you and we'll be in touch. Call ended and I had a neutral feel for it - I didn't think it went badly but wasn't the best feeling I ever left an interview having. The next afternoon, I received an email from the manager saying they wanted to bring me back for a second interview (I believe it was to meet with two individuals who worked for the company this role would support) and requested my availability, which I promptly provided. As it was approaching a holiday weekend, their schedules were tied up and I was advised I can expect an email by the beginning of the following week with a date/time. The email never came. Eight days after the email was supposed to be received no later than, I didn't receive a response from the manager, but got one of those automated messages from LinkedIn saying here's an update from Securitas: we won't be moving ahead with your application. I abruptly, with no explanation or correspondence, went from waiting for my second interview to an impersonal rejection applicants typically receive before a pre-screen call, let alone waiting on a second round face-to-face interview. Look, it's a weird time right now. I can't imagine how busy recruiters/HR specialists are, how many applicants companies are dealing with. I understand you can't respond directly to every single applicant in cases where the list is long. What I don't find acceptable is interviewing someone, telling them you want to meet them again for round two (so clearly the applicant pool was narrowed down significantly to a manageable number), then, with not one sentence to explain what happened, completely change to just rejecting the individual. Quite unprofessional.
