I was contacted to interview for one of the two roles I had applied for, and during the talk with HR they told me that I could actually be considered for both even though I was contacted for only one. Great! Then I was assigned the take home project. I took a full day out of midterm season (when I could have been studying for classes) to complete the assignment as well as give a detailed write up and video demonstration of my solutions. After submitting this, I have not heard anything back for over a month, and have just assumed I've been ghosted. At least a rejection would've been considerate to a candidate that took the time to complete a project.
