I applied to the position of NOC Engineer via a staffing agency. The interview process consisted of a virtual interview as well as an in person interview onsite and both interviews were 30 minutes each. During the first interview, I answered questions about my myself, gave information on my job experience and how I believed that through my past job experience that I was good candidate for the role. After the interview was over, the manager for Segra invited me for second interview onsite. I arrived to the parking garage that is connected to the offices and arrived promptly for the appointment. During the onsite interview, I expected to be asked technical questions pertaining to the job role, but there were none asked. Instead, I was given the same information about the job role as was originally listed for the job ad and was informed that if selected, there would be a training provided for 2-3 weeks. I was asked during the interview where did I park? I responded to where I parked and the manager insinuated that if they had to pay to park so did I. After this, the interview ended and I was told that I would be hearing from them on the next day. The next day, The staffing agency, informed that me that they went with another candidate with more experience. So, no job offer and definitely not parking validation either. I do wonder how much experience they were looking for an entry job role? From their ad, they were even willing to hire a high school student. Well, this is an experience with Segra I will never forget.
